If you are a tea drinker, then you know the importance of a great tea cup! What if you love the dainty look of antique tea cups, but know you're a big-cuppa-tea person and can't really justify owning cute little tea cups? Then look no further!

This tea cup has been repurposed as a candle.  This candle will make a great piece of decoration, and add a nice ambiance if you choose to light the candle.

The candle wax used is beeswax.

What to do with your candle once you've burned it all the way down:

*PLEASE DO THE BELOW ONLY WITH ADULT SUPERVISION*

  1. Gently place the tea cup in hot water.
  2. Allow the cup time to warm up. You should see the leftover wax inside begin to turn to an oil-like substance.
  3. Once the water has cooled enough to handle the tea cup, but not so cool that the wax has solidified again, very very gently remove the tea cup from the water and place on a paper towel.
  4. Using another paper towel,  wipe out the inside and outside of the tea cup.
  5. Repeat this process until all of the wax is gone.
  6. Wash the tea cup with dish soap as usual.
  7. The tea cup is now ready to be repurposed however you would like to use it. I do caution not using it as a tea cup.

  • There is a thrill in finding new ways to use old things. When I go to thrift and antique shops, I look for old tea cups that I think are lovely. I refrain from picking ones that are in sets because I don't like to separate things that go together.
